The purpose of this competency is to achieve the goals of information management, i.e. to:
- capture data accurately and consistently;
- develop usable information from raw data;
- maintain information securely and accessibly during its useful life;
- support effective decision making and communication.
Performance criteria You must be able to: |
| The larger and more complex a piece of work, the more data it is possible to collect and the more information that can be disseminated. However, the success of information management is not judged by the volume of information managed. The focus of these performance criteria should be on the need for accurate and usable information in support of decision making. In an environment that is subject to security constraints performance criteria related to clearances and authorisations may be needed. The context of some projects, programmes and portfolios may mean that certain information has statutory, contractual or regulatory significance. In those contexts it may be appropriate to add relevant specific knowledge criteria. |
